Departure - Départ - Abreise

Here we go! This is my first entry in this blog!

It's around midnight now, tomorrow we'll be leaving and we are still running around and trying to get ready... not that easy. What do you pack for one year? We weighed our backpacks just now and they are both 19 kilos light ;) (without petrol, water, food....). I guess we'll have fun.
Other than that, we are getting a little excited now and I have to admit that I am afraid. The backpack seems much too heavy, our chances of travelling through Australia without a car seem so small, Asia scares the heck out of me, particularly as we won't be able to communicate with anyone, our budget... not very encouraging, and I just know it's going to rain when we get to Darwin at 4 am after three days without sleep... no, of course we are not letting ourselves down and I know this is going to be one of the greatest times of my life... but still, leaving is very scarry and difficult.

I am thinking about yesterday evening and I wanted to let you know that I am so very happy that you all came to share one last time with me. I am never going to forget that. Thanks so much! I'll be wearing my Germany shirt with your messages on it as often as I can (when it doesn't get too hot) and I'll be thinking of you.

So, for now, this is going to be it. Next time, I'll write from a new continent! How exciting is that?!? Take care everybody and don't forget me!!!



Et c'est parti! Ceci est mon premier post dans ce blog!

Il est environ minuit, demain mous partons et nous somme toujours en train de courrir partout et d'essayer de terminer les préparatifs... Pas si facile. Qu'est-ce qu'on prend comme bagages pour un an ? on a pesé nos sacs et ils font tous deux "seulement" 19 kilos ;) (sans le pétrole, l'eau, la nourriture....). Je pense qu'on va s'amuser !

A part ça, on devient un peu excités maintenant et je dois admettre que j'ai peur. Le sac paraît beaucoup trop lourd, nos chances de traverser l'Australie sans voiture perso paraissent tellement minimes, l'Asie me fout la trouille, surtout vu qu'on ne va pas pouvoir communiquer avec les gens, notre budget... pas très encourageant, et je viens juste d'apprendre qu'il va pleuvoir à notre arrivée à Darwin à 4h du matin après 3 jours sans dormir... non, bien sûr, nous ne nous laissons pas décourager et je sais que ça va etre une des plus belles années de ma vie... mais quand même, c'est dur de partir.

Donc maintenant, c'est vraiment parti, la prochaine fois que je vais écrire, ça sera d'un nouveau continent ! Comme c'est excitant !!
