Bye bye India... (special)

A special post today to compensate for the very long post on Patna without any pictures : a post with only pictures ! :-) pictures that we took because the subject was either sad or funny or weird or whatever, in one word : special (hence the title). And here you are :

First for my dear Dad : he alone can fully understand, but you can start to guess by looking at his pseudo in the commentaries...

then, this picture of the standard Indian car... almost all the taxis that are not minibuses are like this, and a lot of private cars too. We just found them tooooooooo cute ;-)

Now, a guy dressed up as a knight, ridiculous as you could wish, for the Indian New Year celebrations in Agra. There where also guys dressed up as women, as women are allowed in the parades...

This one is a particular one, as it pictures what really is a common young boy in India. Yes, yes, they almost all look this frightening (with make up around the eyes), it's absolutely insane... And for this one, I asked the boy to smile........ O_O

This one is dedicated to the incredible ingenuosity of the Indian people when they really want to do (understand "sell" in India) something (like to sell DVDs to asiatic tourists on a boat)... No comment. Or perhaps.... It's for you Greg, Hermes, Erik, Franky, Fanny and all those who have always wanted to play W3 on the beach in Lannion ;-p

Here, you can see the left-rear tyre of the jeep that took us from Siliguri to Darjeeling (a 3h ride)... I let you imagine the state of the spare tyre :-) I know some policemen who would be delighted to see that...

Here you have a "pollution testing center", on the road to Darjeeling... If you have carefully watched the pictures from India that we have put on the blog so far, you then understand why this is quite funny :-p

Here, you have a taste of what we experienced in India all over the place : garbage dumped anywhere, on the street, in the nature, and in people's own gardens. Here, you can see Darjeeling, what is probably a small stream in the wet season. That made me sick - really.

Here, a guy carrying a wardrobe in Darjeeling. No comment... After seeing that, we stopped complaining about our "heavy" backpacks :-p

If you want to know why we ended up becoming vegetarian in India, here is the main reason why...

and here is why we stopped eating fish as well...

And I was wondering how come my t-shirts came back from the laundry actually dirtier than before... this might be part of the explanation... -_-

In Darjeeling, even when it's been sunny for days, every morning you get the feeling that it's been raining all trough the night because the streets look like small rivers... but we finally figured out why it was so: just have a look at the plumbing ! You've got leaks everywhere, and as during the night the sun is not there to dry it all up the roads get soaked.

Yes, you have monkeys in India too, and they are almost as aggressive as in Thailand concerning their food ...

The last one : not really funny or sad, but just to finish on a happier note: something we really liked in India were the spices' shops. They are so colorful that it is a pleasure for the eye!

That concludes this small gallery. I hope you enjoyed it. See ya !

les photos le demontrent.
