Taj Mahal

Ayééééééééé on y est allé !! voir le Taj Mahal. Le train de Jaipur (la fameuse ville rose blague) nous a en effet amené à Agra, ville du célèbre tombeau. Alors la ville en elle-même heu... disons que quand on pense avoir touché le fond en Inde, on trouve toujours pire, et cette ville suit la règle -_- mais bon. Comme Angi avait encore sa crève plus terrible que jamais, on a juste fait le Taj Mahal et le retse du temps on est restés dans l'hôtel donc la ville on s'en fout. Pour le Bâtiment en lui même... Il est bien parti pour faire partie des nouvelles 7 merveilles du monde moderne, et ça peut se comprendre... il est vraiment magnifique. On a passé des heures à le regarder, sous toutes les coutures, comme en témoignent les nombreuses photos que je vous aimises ci-dessous. Oui parce que c'est pas tous les jours qu'on va visiter le Taj Mahal... C'est un peu comme les pyramides et la grande muraille, je me devais donc de vous faire profiter de l'aventure et - une fois n'est pas coutume - je vous ai mis toute une ribambelle de photos. Well, we have to get serious again here, we'll be telling you about our visit to THE symbol of India because what else would we have come to Agra for? Agra itself it the most terrible city I have ever seen in my life so I won't linger on this subject but there was one reason why I did not regret the time we spent there: THE TAJ MAHAL. Of course, everybody has seen hundreds of pictures of this monument of eternal love (a maharadhja built it as a tomb for his second and most beloved wife) and so had I. In fact, I didn't think it anything special and was wondering why everybody was making such a fuss about it. Well, when I stepped through the entrance gate and saw the Taj Mahal for the first time, I knew what the fuss was all about: this definitely is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen in my life! When you walk up to it, it simply seems to float in the air (due to an optical trick), the light plays on its exactly identical four sides, the different patterns in the halftransparent white marble make sure that the whole building does not appear as too cold and sterile, on the contrary, the marble in combination with the flowery stone carvings and the flowery patterns of semi-precious stones give it a very warm and lively appearance. What more is there to say? The inside was rather dim and disappointing but we spent hours outside, observing the changes of light on the building and taking picture after picture after picture - definitely a highlight of our trip and the right place to wear my T-shirt again!
